Managing Director

Thomas Yorke is a seasoned financial professional with over 23 years of institutional investing experience. An expert in the world of financing and the most advantageous use of diversification, Mr. Yorke has made a commitment to serving successful families and individuals, helping them grow and protect their wealth.

Mr. Yorke began his career in bulk commodities transportation in a hands-on role supervising a fleet of international cargo vessels. In 1986 he joined EF Hutton’s Fixed Income marketing department and worked with account executives and their clients to solve various financial problems. Later, at Lehman Brothers, Yorke served as vice president for the central funding department, trading a mortgage financing book and a related interest rate swap book totaling more than $20 billion notional. Additionally, he managed a portfolio of floating rate mortgage-backed securities worth more than $300 million. More recently Mr. Yorke was the Co-Head and a key architect of the global execution and finance group, a highly successful niche business at Refco Securities, which handled the execution, sales, and financing of multiple asset classes. During his tenure Mr. Yorke dealt with many products, including equities, fixed income, currencies, OTC options, structured products, and various commodities.

At Oceanic Capital Management, Mr. Yorke offers the benefit of his rich and varied hands-on experiences. He provides conscientious solutions and security to weary investors who seek something more personal and effective than the superficial strategies parroted by traditional stock brokers. Currently Mr. Yorke holds various securities licenses including the series 4, 7, 24, 55, 63 through an affiliated Broker-Dealer as well as the Series 65, The Uniform Investment Advisor License

"In these uncertain times, it's critical to employ a well thought-out and truly diversified investment strategy" said Yorke, commenting on the current world economic climate. "It is vital to limit your downside and protect wealth by keeping a watchful eye on a potential worst case scenario. Extremely unpredictable events are now showing up every few years; obviously you never know what can happen.” Mr. Yorke is dedicated to applying his expertise in commodities, emerging markets, and other "alternative" asset classes to help investors create well diversified and optimized portfolios. He is concerned that families or individuals with specific funding requirements could be held captive by the random nature of global events and the potential negative impact they can have on their portfolios at precisely the wrong time. Yorke adds, “A properly managed portfolio will help you meet your obligations and weather the various economic storms along the way.”

A life-long resident of Monmouth County, Mr. Yorke, along with his wife Jeannette and their three daughters, lives in Rumson, NJ. He is an active member of the community and involved in numerous charitable organizations. Mr. Yorke has served as Chairman for charity Golf tournaments at Clean Ocean Action and Family and Children’s Services for many years, helping to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for both causes. For eight years he has coached several Rumson-Fair Haven girls’ Lacrosse teams, including the inaugural Girls D travel team. Mr. Yorke is a member of the Rumson Country Club, the Seabright Beach Club, The Seabright Lawn and Tennis club, and a lifelong congregant of Saint Georges by the River.
